The registration for Ayacon 2009 has opened today.
At the time of writing, they've been open a few hours and 300 places are already filled.
This is the convention that is replacing Amecon on the calendars this year. _________________ UK Anime DVD of the Month Awards

Despite being an anime fan for many years, I've never actually been to a convention before.
Yeah I am an anti-social bugger lol. |

Just looked at the prices, it'll be nearly £200 for the weekend and that's before spending money for food drink and stuff. _________________ ...

Yeah I just paid up. It was a scary experience.
But more importantly: I'M GOING!
Aside from the Expo it'll be the only fannish thing I'll do this year. So if it's going to get done, do it properly! Will be staying until the Monday so will be staying right until the end on Sunday night (have booked time off work and everything ).
Saw Fudce on there. Anyone else going? There are still spaces at the minute. You get 5 days to pay once you've registered so best to register and then have a think about it afterwards imo. |

I was going to go with a friend, but her birthday is 4 days after it ends.
So she's still under 18.
So she can't go.
Despite the fact that she'd be the one DRIVING up there!
Guess it'll be Amecon the year after then.
All our costumes?! Where will we wear them?
*is pissed off* |

My knowledge of UK geography is abysmal, so I may be totally off the mark.
This one's in Northhampton:

Then there's always the London Expo. Or you could just wear them to the local supermarket. ^^ |

Kitacon would be a great idea...but unfortunately it lies on my birthday when I am visiting relatives in Holland.
Local supermarket it is! Boy would we give them a shock! |

I know for a fact they have some good ones lined up, they're just tying up negotiations last I checked... |

Oooh, fantastic news. I like the part where it seems plural. _________________ UK Anime DVD of the Month Awards

I do wish cons would sort out guests a litle bit more ahead of time at least announce them where there are a few places left to actually book the con. _________________ ...

Yeah, I'm getting sick with them too, thankfully there are still around 300 places left (no idea about accomodation) _________________ UK Anime DVD of the Month Awards

Is there? *goes and looks* if there's still time I hope they announce the guests before the places sell out. _________________ ...
