I do wish cons would sort out guests a litle bit more ahead of time at least announce them where there are a few places left to actually book the con.

Yeah, I'm getting sick with them too, thankfully there are still around 300 places left (no idea about accomodation)

Is there? *goes and looks* if there's still time I hope they announce the guests before the places sell out.

I'd guess that a lot are either put of by the higher prices, or the lack of guest, but as soon as they announce it (I'm checking their forums daily) the other 300 places will go quicker than you can imagine.

Well no, not yet it all depends on who they anounce as guests and when they announce them. £200 is a lot for a weekend but if there's a once-in-a-lifetime chance to meet one of my fav VA's then it becomes more worth it.

There is now just over two weeks to go until Ayacon 2009. I know not many here are going, so are there any questions that you want me to ask while I'm there?

Booking cut-off is this Friday I think should anyone change their minds. I'll probably see you there as we know what each other looks like from the last Expo. Smile

No idea how this is going to go down but I have a plan:

Friday: Get there without getting lost.
Saturday: Find people who I do/don't know and do... things.
Sunday: Sell comics.
Monday: Go home?

...I'm so going to fail at conventions...

I can't go to Ayacon still, but I am going to Alcon in September.

Doesn't look like anybody from here is going to that though.

Yeah, I'm not hard to miss, just look for the bearded guy in a beige cap chasing after cosplayers with a camera... Razz

They've released the preliminary schedule today, so it's pretty easy to decide what to do. I'd recommend the "Name That Tune" on the Friday, we had great fun there at Amecon, and it's the same guy (Spirit of the Stage) running it again. The Haruko Momoi concert is also Friday night, but after the Name That Tune.

On Saturday is the Haruko Momoi panel, as well as the other guest panels, with Sunday having what looks like the only Industry panel (state of the industry).

The guide is here.

"other guests" have these been announced or is it the usual trick of suprising you once you're there, which for UK con is silly...

"other guests"... hmm. They've got a couple of internet fame types (though one is a voice actor - was the lead in Star Ocean 4)

Oh, and Akemi.

It was a good event. Smile Team up with Fudce for the name that tune quiz and won! Joined another team for the pub quiz and lost (Fudce still won! Laughing).

One thing I've learnt from a con: Do not underestimate the bring and buy table. Epic bargain spendage! Shocked

Nice one winning the name that tune, and good to see you all had a good time.

Bring and buy is always awsome, the number of times I've come home from a con with more money than I took. Very Happy
