| Haven't Toei animation refused to let Sailor Moon be liscenced outside of Japan, surely any older licences have run their course by now. I'm very confused. |

I'll be sure to ask Tony about it at Aya next weekend, but it's very possible that his Sailor Moon licence could be about to expire - in other words "release a quick collection in low numbers and sell it quickly".
Vampire Knight was licenced by Viz in America a couple of weeks back - and given that it's appeared now means that they're releasing it over here (through their partnership with Manga) _________________ UK Anime DVD of the Month Awards

Didn't the Sailor Moon masters go up in smoke in the VDC fire, along with Vampire Princess Miyu and BGC? _________________ "I thought what I'd do was, I'd pretend I was one of those deaf-mutes."

I am reasonably sure that the licence was nearly up by that point too. As far as I remember there were various issues with regards to Sailor Moon, with Naoko Takeuchi wrangling somewhat with Toei over rights and Toei not wanting to licence to the US and other such things. Times have changed a little, though, with Toei pulling out of direct distribution in the US and appearing to licence things again (One Piece being an example). We'll see. Possibly this will be the full Japanese version but that is unlikely since that was never dubbed and sub-only is not a big seller in this country. I imagine someone else has picked it up and are attempting to succeed where MVM failed. Another possibility is that it is one of the movies. I guess we will have to wait and see what Tony and whomever has to say on the subject. |

| The region 1 sub uncut sets got pulled by Toei fairly quickly due to the Japanese reverse importing or so I heard. |

Well Manga Ent are Viz Europe's official partner, so yeah, put it as a obvious Manga release.
Anyone know if Viz Europe have Monster? _________________ Avatar: Hayley Williams, lead singer of Paramore

Had a little dig:

It seems yes they have it, but as the press release is divided between 5 European territories, it could go anywhere. At least it's on this side of the Atlantic which is a start. [/optimistic]
Would've quite liked to have seen Nana there as well, never mind... _________________ My drawing blog and webcomic. |

Good news Monster seems like a good fit for Manga IMO.
(i swear i remember Manga mentioning Nana when they originally announced the deal? Or was that another shoujo title...) _________________ Avatar: Hayley Williams, lead singer of Paramore
