Coincidence - I just got sent the press release for it:
| Quote: | FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
WISHES CAN COME TRUE!
Avril Lavigne Makes Her Manga Debut
Multiple-platinum-selling Canadian pop sensation Avril Lavigne makes the move to manga with an all-new, all-ages series! Avril Lavigne’s Make 5 Wishes follows lonely teenager Hana; ignored by her schoolmates and caught between fighting parents, she spends her time pretending to be other people online, and daydreaming of being friends with rebel-rocker Avril Lavigne. After placing an order at Make5Wishes.com, a strange, demonic creature arrives promising to grant her five wishes, and Hana hopes she might change things for the better; but her wish-granting friend soon doesn’t seem so friendly, as her wishes come true in the worst of ways.
Volumes One [Titan Books, £6.99] and Two [Titan Books, £6.99] will be released concurrently on 28th September 2007. A great new take on the classic tale of The Monkey’s Paw, this manga mixes real darkness into the tale of a girl’s attempted escape from the pressures and stresses of teenage life, all captured in D’Errico’s beautiful artwork.
Already receiving massive acclaim from the United States media, the series also boasts an interactive website at Make5wishes.com, featuring animated episodes of the series, Lavigne’s music and readers’ wishes.
Avril Lavigne’s Make 5 Wishes comes from writer Joshua Dysart (Swamp Thing, Violent Messiahs), artist Camilla D’Errico and Grammy-nominated Lavigne, whose albums have sold over 10 million copies worldwide. Her new album, The Best Damn Thing is available now from Sony and debuted at number one in the US charts.

It does seem a bit cynically made, but I'm sure it'll find its fans. |

To be honest, and I'm clearly opening myself up to be pelted with tomato's here, the story premise doesn't sound all that bad.
If it weren't Avril in the story and her name on the cover and it were just writen as read the press reelase like this instead.

I bet there would be quite a few of us reading it.
It'll be our l33tism to "foreign mnaga" and the name Avril Lavigne that I'll put some of us synics off. _________________ "Ah! Curse your sudden but inevitable betrayal!"

Damo has a good point.
Still - this was Del Rey. Wonder why Titan got it? _________________ Avatar: Asuna from Negima.

No idea really. I guess Tanoshimi are sticking with Japanese only titles, whereas Titan publish a wider range of material.
(and if Tanoshimi didn't want it, it's probably quite easy for Del Ray's parent company to sell it to whoever does)
Damo: I've put in a word with Titan about getting this one. |

Top post contains new dates. Hadn't updated Titan's stuff for a while.
I've got my fingers crossed that after releasing GitS 1/5 Titan will consider releasing the upcoming flipped versions of Shirow's other work. |
