I got the new Samurai X collection today and to my surprise it came in a proper box! I thought it would be another brick, like the last one but with better art.
Well its a box, with 4 thinpak cases inside. New artwork everywhere, even on each disc. Its very classy looking, so much better than the previous collection it isnt funny!
Ill post some pics later, once im on the other computer. _________________ Avatar: Misa Amane from Death Note

| Sounds good. I've got the old individual releases and have a friend who has the old box, so it'll be interesting to see how it's been treated this time. |

Pics pics pics -
Front and spine of the box
Other side of the box, and the slip of paper thats put on the box under the shrink wrap
The dvd cases themselves. Note that the disc number/title is only on the spines, and that the Spring/Summer/Autumn/Winter scheme is used on the discs aswell, behind a big X, and also on the reverse side of the covers. Looks reallllll nice like. _________________ Avatar: Misa Amane from Death Note

*cough* i posted the pics toraman...
Ok seriously - on the original releases where the subtitles in this odd looking font? It looks nothing like ADVs usual font, it almost looks like comic book style text. _________________ Avatar: Misa Amane from Death Note

Oops, sorry! Looks nice. This isn't ADV's first thinpak isn't it? After Manga's Gits:Sac and MVM's Chobits reckon it'l be all the rage this year! (the movie cover looks a little out of place as it's in the different style, but otherwise it's damn nice!)
About to rush off to work! I'll take a lookee at the DVD subs later |

On a TV screen the difference is even clearer. But yeah it looks like they didnt do any re-authoring. In fact Trust/Betrayal were authored by Madman.
| Quote: | | Only reflection stands out as being different from the others. Samurai X is very old in terms of ADV licences and was one of their first DVD releases over here which may explain the unusual subs. |
Reflection looks closer to ADVs current subtitles. I guessed it was one of ADVs first dvd release, going by things like the "burned in" subtitles on certain things, and the titles been completed replaced instaed of subtitled.
I watched it dubbed, but bought up the subs by accident (the menu wording got me all confused for a mo, lol)
Oh and yeah its ADV UKs first think pak box. Luckily they arent following what ADV US do for most Thinpak boxes (stripping extras) _________________ Avatar: Misa Amane from Death Note
