It's kinda pointless so far but there are still 4 eps to go on the disc so I'm hoping to get used to it. I really wanted to like it as well... Crying or Very sad

It doesn't bode well for PaniPoni then you're only 1/26 the way through the sereis and already board with it, I've got this to come it's int eh review pile.

Heh, you might like it, I'm in a bit of a bad mood today (when aren't I?) which makes me short on patience.

It does strike me as the kind of show that'll grow on you as opposed to being instantly appealing so I'm not writing it off yet. Smile

Naah! What difference does it make as it won't affect how I saw the first episode? Because ADV decided to package it in groups of episodes doesn't mean I have to follow suit. Razz

I'll be giving it a proper chance and will watch all of it at some point but my first impressions of it weren't great. Let's just say if I caught the first episode on TV (like it was originally screened) I wouldn't be desperate to catch the rest.

I watched Spiral 4 though recently and that was cool, so it's not as though I hate everything! Laughing

Heh, I judge most things by whether the first episode grips me or not. It's like when I'm reading a book if I'm bored by the end of the first chapter I'm not really interested in the rest of the book!

Could be I'm missing out on some stuff...but I don't recall that ever happening Razz

In the realms of fansubs I can download an episode #1 and scan through the file and usually tell within that 2-5 minute timeframe if I'm going to like it or not.

Seen as I've been burnt out I've been exclusivly watching some anime I've wanted to watch again for a long time all week, so have been marathoning BGC: Tokyo 2040 all week (Started monday), the final disc will be tonight. And I'm also now upto eps19 of Stellvia.

Shame it's cut. The US gets a special edition in September with the full 100 minute cut on it. I wonder if we will here.

It's not tecnically cut, in the sense of being edited in any way, it is the full version of the film that will be released everywhere, the SE contains the directors cut.

True, it's just from what I read, the director wasn't too pleased with the cuts that were made, and it is noticeable that certain characters aren't developed, and there are one or two plot holes.

OK I tired Pani Poni again for another episode. I think the biggest thing that made it better was switching to subs. The dub kinda grates and is forcibly high-pitched.

Also added the extra subs so I can see what's going on in the backgrounds, my bad for not doing the settings properly first time around.

It's a bit better now. Smile

As I stated earlier, Pani Poni Dash is fun but can be hard to take in large doses. It is one of those shows, like Excel Saga or PandaZ, that is difficult to watch in large doses. That was my opinion of it at least. It has great potential but it is probably best taking it at a fairly relaxed pace (unless you really like manic shows).

if I tried to watch Pani Poni Dash subtitled, my head would explode. The dub grates (I can pretty much guarentee you that it's Himeko that causes the problem) because it's high energy.
That's just me though - and I enjoy Brittney Karbowski's energy in Paniponi. Laughing

All this about Pani Poni doesn't sound all that promising, espetially the comments about the dub, "high energy" where ADV are concerned usually equals shouting.
No offence to the guy but I've yet to hear Rob Mungle in a role where he isn't shouting. Even playing Nick in BGC:2040 he was shoutign all the time.

/Edit
Anyways watched Balck Lagoon #1 last night, gulty pleasure ahoy fuill of guns and swearing.

If you didn't like Excel Saga, you might not like Paniponi, that's for sure.
