Suzuka Volume 4, a series which I'm really enjoying. Relationship drama without the angst. I like the light touch

School Rumble vol 3 - Still very funny, but its so close to the manga im laughing before the funny bits happen....

Tsubasa vol 5 - seems to be heading for a good ending of the season. Im prepared for disappointment tho.

Peach Girl vol 5 - woah.

Considering what happened to her i dont blame her for acting weird. At least she seemed to be back to her old self by the end of the volume.

I felt sorry for Kairi the most. Cant blame him for missing his "appointment" with Momo, and then she goes and shacks up with Toji... (and is it just me or was it very much implied that Toji and Momo have sex in that hotel?)

Anyway - Utawarerumono volume 6. Yeah, that was great. Ended brilliantly, and those slight sci-fi moments from vol 5? They fit in very well when they are fully explained in flashbacks over the last 4 eps. Great show overall.

No but he should ahve just tlaked to her about it on the phone instead of just letting it drag on.

I didn't get that from it, and Momo's always been about not doing that in teh first place as that'show people see her and she's not.

Watched Tekkonkinkreet on DVD last night for the first time. Considering the Blu-Ray release, I'd have figured that Sony would have put in a dodgy transfer to big up the HD format, but the DVD was as good as the format gets when it comes to visual and sonic presentation.

The film itself was a tad disappointing. Unbearably beautiful, and well worth watching just for the spectacle, but it just failed to hook me, and while I'd get moments where I'd start to be emotionally invested, it would lose me with the next scene and the next cliche.

EDIT: Also watched Mushi-shi Volume 5, which was just pure awesome. Episodic storytelling just doesn't get better than this.

Finished watching Shingu last night, which was definitely worth my while. It's a sort of light-hearted angle on the whole teenagers defending the world scenario, and it focuses more on the mundanities of teenage life rather than the angst and the stress that comes with piloting giant mecha at the age of fifteen. It's fun and light-hearted, with some really nice characters. No one whines here. It's a sort of easy-listening anime.

Polished off Naruto 4:1 last night. The pace slows down after the Chunin exams arc, but for some reason I've enjoyed this volume most of all so far.

In my retro viewing, started in again on Trinity Blood and Mini Goddess.

Finally got round to watching Paprika last night, had it on my pending pile for 6 months!

Not Satoshi Kon's finest, but still a cracking film. I guess with the dream angle, you knew from the beginning there would be weird stuff on screen, it was integral to the story. With his other films, the weirdness snuck up on you unexpected, and was creepier for it.

Just finished watching the first 2 discs of bleach Season 2: Part 1 - So far, so good. the only thing thats really annoyed me so far is that thing that was pointed out in "what do you hate about anime" thread, where somebody says "computer" and somebody else says "computer?" and the other one
*guy runs up to hero, punches him in face*
hero - "ah! you have just hit me in the face"
me - "NOOOO! REEEEEALLY? (!)"

thankfully this sort of thing only happens occasionally

one more thing, the soul reapers are a bunch of gits!
