Ikkaku is brilliant and the pairing of Yachiru and Kenpachi is classic Very Happy.

Got round to watching Appleseed (2004) last night, just to get used to the toon-shaded CG before trying Vexille. At least Optimum know how to treat anime. (No unpleasant surprises on the Brave Story check disc either). Anyway, Appleseed was a big improvement over the original OVA, although I didn't quite buy the animation style. Backgrounds and mecha looked great, but the people didn't quite fit, and mouths looked horrible. The story was better than the original too. So now I want to watch Ex Machina (but not the English dub Sad )

Import the US dvd then, simple.

Or suck it up and give the dub a chance, you might like it.

Naah, I always go original language/subs. (Except on spaghetti westerns, that would make my head spin). I might try a dub occasionally for a different experience, I like the dub for GITS:SAC, but original language is my default setting.

Sinise when, It's a FUNi release and I don't think they've ever dubtitled anything, besides these guys would have spotted it if it were.

We're talking Appleseed Ex Machina, which is a Warner release globally in non R2J regions, and those guys have already spotted it.

Unless it's the Korean version on which I can't find any information, it's dubtitled too.

Warners released it worldwide except in Japan. Same DVD everywhere, just with different Region coding.

That makes the Uk's dub only short shafting even worse.

Woot! 1000 posts!

And I celebrate it with finally a watch of Vexille...

Okay, New drinking game, everytime you spot a rip-off, take a sip. At the end of the movie, go to A&E to have your stomach pumped.

Damned pretty though.
