Utawarerumono volume 5
Yeah so what was "that scene" all about please don't tell me we're going to get an ending that has relativly nothing to do with the rest of the show as the way the series IS going there's no "end" in sight. _________________ “Sometimes, death is all you can see. I'm enjoying the characters more, and the story is developing well. I'm also impressed as to how much narrative they manage to cram into each episode, and keep developing the characters at the same time. It's definitely value for money in that respect. |
I watched this last night, well 3/4 of it, I kind of have to agree it's good stuff, but I'm finding it really hard to formulate anything to say about it, it's good, but like Utawarerumono it has nothing truely outstanding. . _________________ “Sometimes, death is all you can see. ^^
It is middle of the road mass market anime...
Speaking of which, I watched Tsubasa Volume 5 last night. It is the Country of Oto arc that I enjoyed most in the manga, but I still caught myself drifting off. Another disc of average pleasantness. _________________ "I thought what I'd do was, I'd pretend I was one of those deaf-mutes."

That sounds about right, it's like it would be a good reccomend to lots of people but I wouldn't find myself recomending it outright-first-choice if asked to recommend some anime.
The character development was okay too but itf had it's monets of beligerance which had me wanting to smack them. _________________ “Sometimes, death is all you can see. It’s all around you. It consumes you - So you have to look it in the eye, and bare your teeth.”

Finished off Kurau volume 3, and something has clicked with the whole volume just working better. It's still a little odd to hear Kurau yelling "CHRISTMAS!!!" and ther's a fantastic line of dialog when taken out of context (will be quoted int eh review). _________________ “Sometimes, death is all you can see. Yesterday and today - Finished off One Piece Season One First Voyage. Overall? Really enjoyable, definitely one of the better SJ shows.
As for FUNi's new dub, its grown on me. Still think Nami sounds a little too much like a typical Luci Christian voice, but Colleen Clinkenbeard is great as Monkey D. Luffy. Still waiting to hear Sanji (who was my fave voice in the hack and slash 4 kids jobby), not sure how long before he pops up tho (he is in the first opening).
Some of the secondary voices are really good too - Buggy the clown is flashily great (sorry, OP pun you may not get) and one of his pirates is voiced by a very different sounding Greg Ayres.... _________________ Avatar: Rei from NGE

Sanji will be in the first episodes of the next box if memory serves me. He appears in the arc directly following Usopp's introduction. One of the things I liked about the FUNi release of One Piece was the marathon feature, which played the tracks for each volume with a single op at the beginning, single ed and preview at the end and just the episode content in between. Saves skipping the op and ed sections for each episode basically, which you are liable to do during a marathon session.
Started watching High School Girls (that sounds incredibly pervy in a Welcome to the NHK kind of way ) last night and will probably finish that up tonight. Very, very funny series. |

School Rumble V3, which has settled down into nice enjoyable funny, with the odd sweet moment, instead of teh revolutionary comedy that Volume 1 promised. Disappointed and entertained at the same time.
Started watching my new import!

Kurau volume 4, was also good but not as good as volume 3, theres' some intersting aspects of the sereis which they as always conveinentaly ignore which if they didn't could make it a much better series.
And I also keep trying to watch Gunbuster 2, made it to the end of episdoe 3 now. _________________ “Sometimes, death is all you can see. It’s all around you. It consumes you - So you have to look it in the eye, and bare your teeth.”

Noir disk 7
Otogi Zoshi disk 5 - Tokyo arc disk2
Noir was well Noir so enough said.
Otogi Zoshi I really enjoyed. While I liked the first arc I'm enjoying the second more probably because it's less serious. The first arc seemed weighed down a bit by being overly serious. _________________ When people fail at being alive, they die.
