Do you buy each volume of a series as it comes out, or do you do a monthly purchase of several titles?

Im a little of both, if i remember i pick up things when there out, otherwise i place a amazon order with 4 or 5 books in.

I buy volume 1s pretty much at random if they look interesting to me. After that it's I buy as I see them in the shops money permitting. I try to plan my spending but I often get distracted by other series. I rarely keep up with new releases for this reason.

I only really order manga online if I can't find it anywhere else first. Not sure why though...

Maybe your trying to rasie the profile of manga in bookshops (thats my excuse anyway Razz)

Its easier to get US manga from amazon than in shops (I just ordered my first DMP title today for example)

I only order books online if I can't find them in the shops locally, and manga is no exception.

I also have a limit on the number of series I read at any one time, and a limit of two volumes per series in my backlog pile. If I see the next volume of a series in a bookshop and there's space for it in my backlog pile, I'll buy it. Otherwise, I order them off Amazon 4 or 5 books at a time, as and when space in my backlog pile permits.

I buy mine online, but if I'm going to town, I often check there too, as there are some decent offline offers on manga.

I buy all my manga online - mostly from Amazon.

Partly because I pretty much just read shojo and a bit of some shounen (Case Closed, Inuyasha etc.) and most of that isn't available in the UK (I have a part time job in a bookshop so I've checked it out in great detail) and secondly, I would only ever order it through work, and I think they'd all disapprove - though we have got one volume of Elemental Gelade that we ordered in by mistake! That said, I have got it through work a couple of times, but as I said, there aren't that many titles I'm interested in.

Well, that made me blab on for a bit! Laughing

Random buys in 3 for 2 offers seem to be the method of choice for me these days... are Waterstones still doing that one? It's been a couple weeks since I last went.

I think they are, though I don't tend to go into Waterstones much. Cool Wink
