Just added the two Oh My Goddess OVAs to their £0.99 section if anybody wants them.
They've got a lot of volume 1's up, but that's normal. |

Thanks for the tip. I've never been a big Oh My Goddess fan, but I've already got the first one so at least it'll complete the set.
Edit: Noticed they've got a sale on boxsets as well, so nabbed the Tenchi Muyo sets as they were at a pretty good price.

You absolute angel
Been wanting AMG V2 for ages now.
Picked up BGC V3 while I was at it. At 99p why not? _________________ "I thought what I'd do was, I'd pretend I was one of those deaf-mutes."

I'm not a giant fan on Oh My Goddess either, but I spotted them there today, and as I've seen the entire first season, I thought I'd get them.
Also got Serial Experiments Lain 1 and Texhnolyze Volume 1.
A couple of days ago I also got Saiyuki Reload 1 and Zone of the Enders 1.
It's a week for new series! Plus I bought Cowboy Bebop 5 and 6 today to try and complete my collection. Just missing volume 2 and the movie now.
I'll keep an eye out and post if anything new comes up. |

You might want to check out the commentary. In terms of the first disc I've had that track on more than the show itself! |

I'm not NOT a fan.
I just think there are far better shows out there.
Plus, despite all the potential romance, nothing ever happens! The most you ever get is a romantic sunset...
I like my romances with KISSING! |

That is part of the fun though. Ah My Goddess isn't about the kissing, and the getting it on, it's about the journey getting to that stage. _________________ UK Anime DVD of the Month Awards

Oh gawd no it isn't in a five part OVA sure it works really well but the TV series nosedived,
as with all shows with "Romance", I'm with PaleBlack on this one, KISS DAMNIT.
Romance should be about the romance and not getting to it.

I dunno, the X-Files managed just fine with 9 years of will they won't they, although I guess it's not exactly a romance.
A better example would be Niles and Daphne in Frasier. As long as they weren't smooching, and Niles was nuts about Daphne with her oblivious, it was hilarious. As soon as the two of them got together, the show nosedived. _________________ "I thought what I'd do was, I'd pretend I was one of those deaf-mutes."

Unlike Ah My goddess X-files wasn't about the romance, it was about X-files. with the [insert list of anime] they are about the romance in Ah my goddess Keiichi and Belldandy are supposed to be togther, a couple, but nver actually get to the romance, Ai Yori Aoshi, another series where the couple are togther from the start but had to hide it, the best scenes being those prescious few where they got some alone time.

I'll argue with Fraiserthat it's written by westerners and is therfore funnier because it's more akin to our sense of humor and sensibities on the subjects, I did give up watching Frasier around sereis 4 though. _________________ ...

Even in the West, romantic comedies are never about the relationship, rather the getting to that point.
Years of Meg Ryan kookiness prove that. It's about how the couple gets together. Once they do, the end credits roll. I can see it getting tedious the longer it's stretched out. 90 minutes is a whole lot less than a 26 or 52 episode series.
But surely it's to be expected from the genre. _________________ "I thought what I'd do was, I'd pretend I was one of those deaf-mutes."

If you look at a lot of romance films today, quite a lot of them have them getting together and then something going wrong, which often leads to fights/break ups/tortured scenes of angst but they always (or at least in most cases) get back together and it all turns out to be one big misunderstanding.
Even in ones where they don't get together until the end, there is still a feeling of relationship progression. I just don't get that with Ah My Goddess |

There are lots of theories on the issue, and lots of beliefs and opinions...
Who knows, maybe I'm just a hopeless romantic _________________ UK Anime DVD of the Month Awards
