Found this on the Neo forums

Quote:
Hi, Due to a dispute with Sky Rapture is at risk of being removed from channel 193.

However we'll still be available for free on Sky, to access us just follow the simple instructions at the link below:

www.rapturetv.com/sky.html

If you could pass this info on to other anime websites/forums that would be much appreciated, and would help as many anime fans as possible to keep watching Rapture.

Cheers and look out for Anime Nation on Rapture from the 25th!

I wish they'd just come onto Freeview, but I guess it would cost them more money.

On the flipside they'd definitely get more viewers!

We'll have to wait and see...

Tora, just a heads up you can also watch Rapture live via their webiste, I've got it playing at the moment just seen an advert for Neo !! Mezzo and now FMA is on. (yes adverts and all)

I hope they win their case agaist Sky, sky has just gone downhill as of late and TBH only really cares about their sports and movie channels.

I'll be switching to freeview in the next week or so as we're sending sky back.

Yeah, I agree them going on Freeview would be better, but on the flipside, if all goes well with their protest to OFCOM they'll be back on the Sky EPG before we know it.
I guess this makes it official, BSkyB are evil.

Cool. I knew it was going on but never actually tried it. Just clicked the link and it works great! (was worried it might kill my computer, but all is well) Thanks! Very Happy

It is a shame what is happening to Rapture (and probably a number of other smaller channels as well). They have done and are doing a lot of good for anime in the best way that they can and I hope that this dispute will sort itself out in due time.

It is good to know, from reading the reports on Neo forums, that the issue is one of principle rather than one of absolute necessity (ie they could pay the price that Sky wants but believe it is far more than its worth).

BLoody Sky!!!
sorry I recently had fun trying to tune an old Sky Digibox to the free channels from another satellite, with no joy Sad
I can only guess it was only designed to work from a sat in a specific orbital postion (28.8 degrees East) whereas I was trying to pick stuff up from 19.2 degrees.
If any of you have no joy with you sky boxes, get yourself a cheap FTA digital sat box Smile As sky put their own software in their boxes that makes it nearly impossible to tune stuff not on thier flippin EPG. hopefully when BBC, CH4 and ITV kick start this FreeSat idea they have it'll stop sky having such a monopoly on satellite.

Either that or show some love for the Rapture Freeview idea! Wink lord knows it needs something more than shopping and late night quizes!

Indeed

and six channels out of freeviews epg block are beign taken up with that "Tv on demand" rubbish (which was set up by a former BskyB exec) it's extra freeview channels - but you gotta pay.

I get the impression that TopUP thing has finally begun to go pecks up aas CH 5 bought it or something and are gonna use it to bring out some extra channels, weather or not five get greedy and try to make people pay for em is anybodys guess, it'll be a big mistake if they do.
Just checked out Raptures "How To" tuning guide, think I know where I went wrong now Smile

"Hot off the press!

BSkyB backs down on threat to turn off Rapture.

We have just had confirmation from Sky that they do not intend to take any further action against Rapture until all aspects of the dispute between us is fully investigated and or resolved.

As the original press release on our website from the end of last week says, we do have a dispute and will continue to pursue this with BSkyB through the appropriate channels at Ofcom. This may be a lengthy procedure and we promise to keep you up to date with the latest news and press releases.

This back-down from BSkyB is not a sign that the war is over, only this latest battle won.

We would like to personally thank you for all the kind words of support over the past few days on the website and on the channel. You have been hugely supportive and this would have definitely helped to push BSkyB into making the right decision.

Celebrate this small victory, tell your friends and keep watching!

Rapture Management Team"

fingers crossed Smile
