first I hear akiras being made into a live action (why try and top a masterpiece?) then spielberg fancies making ghost in the shell, why can't they just leave well enough alone!
Is there really people out there who wont watch something unless its live action?

I love the original cartoon but it was plagued with technical errors like TFs wrongly coloured and TFs speaking when they werent supposed to even the animated movie had a cock-up in it (magnus putting the matrix in his chest twice)
all i meant was is a live action akira is SERIOUSLY going to have to go some to top the original. which I seriously doubt they will, I feel sorry for the fans if Speed Racer was anything to go off (which I've re named Lazy Town the movie) _________________ "Dying is easy, comedy is hard." - Sir Donald Wolfit |

*Wow it has been a while since I last posted here*
Anyway I always thought this was strange. Why when you already have a japanese live action why do you need to remake it with an american cast?
If they can improve or add a worth while spin on something then it will be cool, if they are just retelling the same story but with Shia Leboeuf (not that I dislike him) playing Light and some big breasted blonde as Misa then I really fail to see the point. |

I suppose but it means they have to change it and they hardly make a better job of it. Just imagine an american remake of Battle Royale or Hero, the horror . |

Personally I agree, but people get scared of something foreign. _________________ UK Anime DVD of the Month Awards

Yeah that is the sad truth of it all, if only movie companies had a little more guts and released foreign films more often then they wouldnt be so scary and new. IIRC Crouching Tiger got decent figures so there is hope. |
