Thanks for all the information.
I may try and multi-region my DVD drive, but not right now, as the next time I am home for more than one day is mid-November.
The one day I am home in between then I need to do my uni application on (struggling with it at the moment). I hate UCAS. |

I am so glad that I got the Region 1s now. I started watching Volume 4 last night, and the difference is immediate. You lose so much because the onscreen text is untranslated. At first it really only bothered me with episode 23, as so much of the plot was revealed in text, place names and people texting each other on phones.
But in episode 14 there were three or four places that made me just go Wow! They totally went over my head in the Manga version.
For example, when Hikaru and Sadamitsu board the train to ask the old guy about the Manseibashi train station, the book he is reading is called 'Otogi Zoshi'. Actually it's just nice knowing the names of the places they are visiting, and the apartment they all live in is called Minamoto Villas.
Oh best of all, at the beginning of the episode when Tsuna and Hikaru are on the scooter running from the motorbike gang, it's just a moment in the Manga discs, but in the Region 1, you find out the cycle gang is called the Tsuchigomo. The Manga disc completely messes up the parallel with the start of episode 1, where Hikaru and Tsuna are fighting with the Tsuchigomo Clan on horseback.
Manga sucked in 2007, I just didn't know how much! _________________ "I thought what I'd do was, I'd pretend I was one of those deaf-mutes."
