Anime is limited by the definition of the industry. I'll hazard that the LE of Haruhi was only printed in small numbers, probably 500, maybe 1000 if they were feeling frisky.

Andrew@beez already stated that the initial (and potentially only) run was for 500 units. They retained a few of those for sale at the first Expo and AmeCon so the numbers out at retail are slightly less than that 500.

That rings a bell. I knew I got the 500 number from somewhere.

Watched Shana: Volume 3 last night

I like it a lot, but I can't quite put my finger on why, as it is a pretty run of the mill show. It's put together well though, and the characters are all likeable. Also there's no filler and each episode is filled with story...

But...

I picked mine up at Amecon, (as already said) I bought them on teh saturday around midday ish and even then they were running low, by sunday morning they had one copy of LE volume 3 (i think) left an that was it, andrew told me I bought them at just the right time too.

Finished watching Shakugan no Shana 1 and 2 as well as Samurai Champloo 1.

I was really dubious about whether I'd enjoy Samurai Champloo but I'm finding it strangely addictive. Off to Spain on Sunday though, so won't be seeing any more of it for a while.

Witchblade vol 4. Pretty good, the storyline of her daughter/possible real mum was very well done.

The swimsuit episode..... not so much (but it was funny)

Black Lagoon: 2nd Barrage V1 last night...

It's a slow burner of an opener, although it kicks off where Season 1 left off. The first story takes Black Lagoon darker than it has ever been, downright bleak for such a bubblegum show, but the last episode puts the funny back on. Probably the best volume yet.

Also, what is it with freaky twins this month!?

Buso Renkin, Shana and now Black Lagoon have left me needing therapy.

Disk 4 of Heat GuyJ rewatch.
Disk 7 of Last Exile.

I enjoyed Last Exile for the most part but it was one of those series that didn't quite 'do it' for me if you like. Nothing wrong with it at all just lacking something for me. No idea what though.

On to Haruhi Very Happy

Gravitation vol 2.

Just how much drama can be squeezed into 4 eps? A lot it seems. Shocked

Finished off Haruhi last night. I've found a new favourite anime, to go along with the twenty or so others. Very Happy
A really cool concept plus great characters sold it for me. The vanilla discs are loaded with extras too.

Watched Vexille last night, hard subs and all, thankfully there isn't a right lot of speech anyway. CG very much int eh vein of Ex Machina, I enjoyed it and am half way through listenig to the commentary track which is really interesting and full of factoids.

Space Operators 1 last night, which was good, better Star Trek than Star Trek at times. Also started watching the Tokyo arc of Otogi Zoshi, and it was less than two minutes before my purchase was justified.

Y'know, I keep making that mistake. Proofreading the review is gonna be a bitch!

Started in on the FMA movie LE, well actually I just watched the movie again and I'll check out disc 2 this weekend.

I'm also enjoying the Region 1 Otogi Zoshis more than I expected. The on screen text adds 10% to the show just for the references to the Heian arc and other little gifts to the audience.
