There must have been that first experience that got you interested in anime music.
What is the one moment that had you in your record store, or surfing the net looking for more?
With me it was a song, Cosmic Dare from the Cowboy Bebop Movie soundtrack. After that I was hooked... _________________ "I thought what I'd do was, I'd pretend I was one of those deaf-mutes."

| The first would have to be the opening to the original Bubblegum Crisis and all of the music that followed on in that series. I didn't go looking for it since I was well aware that the soundtrack wasn't available for me (internet shopping hadn't arrived when i watched it so importing it from Japan was never even a consideration for me.) |

Probably Canta per Me from noir.
One of my top series as I've said even after 4 years and several rewatches.
I love the whole soundtrack, I bought both OSTs and the blanc dans noir albums as my first anime CDs. It was also my first experience of Yuki Kajiura and the first time I really noticed the soundtrack as a major part of a series.
Since then buying the soundtracks to series has become an enjoyable addon to the buying of the actual DVDs. _________________ When people fail at being alive, they die.

Bubblegum Crisis the 2 vocal soundtrack CD's wer the first CD's I ever owned they even arrive before my CD player. After that it was the vocal tones of Megumi Hayashibara and her work on the Slayers series. There was a website that constantly put MP3's up of the slayers themes and they got me hooked. _________________ ...

| In honesty I think my fondness for J-pop and other Japanese music came more from video games than anime initially. The theme from Final Fantasy VIII "Eye's On Me" I really liked and had both the English and Japanese versions, it also probably helped that my girlfriend at the time liked the song too. I think it was then I started listening to online radio stations that played mainly music form video games and anime, which introduced me to many more songs/artists. |
