Watched MAR: Volume 1, eventually. Kept falling asleep through it. Low rent RPG action story, just enough going for it to keep it ticking over, but without the TV broadcasts to bring in the toddler pound, I don't see it taking off.

On the bright side, and keeping me awake, Shingu volume 1, which is just shy of awesome. Think giant mecha, awesome battles, alien conspiracies and what not, all relegated to the background of a light slice of life series. Really cool take on the concept, and very fun.

Watched Hell Girl volume 3 last night
It's getting really interesting, each episode still has its own case of vengeance but they are beginning to blur the lines as to whether it really is vengeance that's being served. One guy asks for redemption and a chance to apologise. Another episode is told from the point of view of the person going to hell after they die too. Then there's the layer of running story with Haijme, Tsugumi and Ai.

Started rewatching Ikki Tosen with disk1 as this is a nice series for the summer with all that flesh on show jiggling in interesting ways Laughing

Finished Otogi Zoshi which I enjoyed.

Watched Time Bokan the other night Smile It's worth it just to see Gatchaman, Casshan , Tekkaman and many other studio Tatsunoko characters all turning up in the same battle.

Last night it was Mazinkaiser followed by TransFormers Zone Smile

Death Note Volume 2

Which continues its high level of excellence, if you like the cat and mouse mindgames that is.

It's odd though how the immorality of the characters colours my reaction to the anime, where it never has an effect in the manga. Maybe it's because there are voices behind the characters now that makes it less abstract.

Been watching the first volume of MAR over the last couple of days. A lot of fun, much like the manga was but it will be interesting to see what will happen when Manga catches up to where Viz hiatused it (and if it is removed off hiatus before that time).

Space Adventure Cobra last night, which was different. Very Barbarella-esque.

Lupin the 3rd: Secret of Mamo last night, which was...

dull quite frankly. It put me to sleep twice, and i couldn't find a hook to get me interested. I guess I've been spoiled by The Castle of Cagliostro. Sad

Finished off Hell Girl last night, yes, I imported the whole thing, fantastic show, it retains it's episodic format right up until teh last three episodes then wraps up all the subtle running threads that were throughout the show to do with Hajime and Tsugumi.
