The near-reape scene though - nearly took me right out of the film. Can understand it was showing how Shiro was worn out by the publicity surrounding his space mission.... but yeah. Not really needed.

This was actually edited out of the film on the UK release so you're not alone on that one. Manga actually requested it so it could get a PG rating.

I've never seen it uncut and doesn't look like any kind of DVD release is on the way. Which version have you got? I've got a french DVD which has the absolutely gross video quality - my subbed recording off BBC is so much better! Might have the get the R4 one...

Have lately been watching Demon Lord Dante. Only seen the first DVD so far but I'm liking it. The ultra kitsch style is an acquired taste I suppose, but it ticks all the right boxes with me, so that'll do. Smile

Oooooh, but didn't ya know that all editing is bad Wink

Really though i think that under todays BBFC rules i think it would get a 12 uncut.

The US blu-ray release Smile

Now all of the old "boutique" BVUSA releases are OOP they are falling in price just enough for me to take a shot at em, although i was lucky to get Yukikaze and am hoping that i can get their Jin-roh release aswell...

It comes with the film on DVD aswell for some reason... DVD is R1/2 and the BD is region free.

Watched

Claymore volumes 1-2 - Good I really enjoyed this I loved the more subdued colours and the story , looking forward to the rest, though I hear the end is poor.

Space Adventure Cobra - I'd actually seen this before, don't know when but I'd almost completely forgotten it. Great space adventure with some great visuals (for the time).

Naruto 5:2 - Rather annoyed the Naruto/Sasuke fight didn't really get under way but Rock Lee's Drunken Fist was absolutely hilarious to watch

The Humanoid - Picked this up for £1.50 from CEX, really wasn't expecting much, except maybe a good laugh at a bad show. I was presently surprised, the story and characters were poor stereotypes but the dubbing was competent with the occasional brilliant line. What really stood out though was the soundtrack from the BGM to the vocal tracks it really stood above the rest of the production.

The ending is a bit weak yeah as the manga is still going, I was miffed with the ending maily cos I didn't agree with how it played out. One of the character arcs that runs through the seies just doesn't conclude and it's not their fault it doesn't conclude either.

cryptic enough? Very Happy

Hehe, I've not been in this thread for a while, too much gaming, but I did find time to watch Air all 12 episodes over sunday-monday. Will go back for the summer specials at a later date as I'm still lettign the series sink in.

Very sad, a lot of crying on teh characters part, maybe a tear or two on my part. Overall not quite what I was expecting to really quit good anyway.

i'm clad I took the chance on it.

Finished Ouran High School Host Club Part 2 great comedy anime I was in tears of laughter for a good portion of these episodes particularly the two with "Boss Nova-Kun". Though the last 2 episodes perhaps we're a little forced in some plot points, the conclusion was mildly satisfying and a tremendous cop out at the same time. Laughing

Finished rewatching Moon Phase today. Still an enjoyable series but I still find the opening credits to be really annoying.

This batch of anime includes

Watched...

NieA under 7: V3 & 4 - As good as the first two, a relaxing mood anime, which may not be ABe's best, but it still better than a fair portion of shows out there.

Slayers Next Volume 3 - I really like this series, certainly a lot more than the first one, which I thought was disjointed and uneven, but this really blends the ingredients together well, the comedy, the action, and the nice character moments.

Bleach: The Movie - Memories of Nobody - A shonen series begetting a good feature film, shay it ishn't sho. But MoN is brilliant, even if it is filler. It has an excellent story, a great guest character, and the emotional moments, both overwrought and understated are brilliantly observed. You wind up wishing that it wasn't just filler afterwards.

Solty Rei V3 - See two pages ago.

Wolf's Rain - Complete Collection - I picked up the Region 1 Bandai Collection and it's amazing. Great story, a strong character based show that leads you on an emotional rollercoaster. One of the best shows out there.

Ghost Hunt Part 2 - If Part 1 was Scooby Doo, Part 2 is The X Files. Things get really serious in this half, there's more weight to the mysteries, and I got the feeling that the characters really were in peril. There are only three stories on this set, but they are excellent. In fact, I think this is the first time that I have actually been scared by an animated horror, indeed the first time I have been scared by any horror in decades. The cliffhanger in the middle of The Bloodstained Labyrinth really had my heart beating fast.

Samurai Deeper Kyo Volume 1 - It's got the word Samurai in the title so it must be good. Not really. It's got guys with swords in, it's got demons, and it's got a girl to provide fanservice. It's like Ninja Scroll TV. It's also slow, aimless and horribly animated. It even suffers from character overload. Yuk

Negima S2 Part 1- There's something wrong with me. I already saw this show in entirety on Funimation, so I'd already stopped blaming it for not being S1. Season 2, reboots the show, the animation is much better, the story is better, the characters get fairer screen time, the music is better, it's got miles more fan service, it's animated by SHAFT, so if you like the visual gags style of Moonphase, you are going to adore this, in nearly every respect this is the better show. It's just that I'm not fond of the way Asuna is sidelined in this story, even though it means the other students get better character development, and even then it's still better. But I prefer the Ken Akamatsu faithful first season, with it's perverted Love Hina style antics. There is something wrong with me. Oh yeah, DVD >>>>>>>Online

Rewatched:

Naruto 5:2 - And here my Naruto rewatch ends. It was too soon to watch the Naruto Sasuke confrontation again, this time it put me to sleep.

Spiral 5 & 6 - This time I wiki'd to find out what the Blade Children are. Shame that couldn't have been animated too.

Heat Guy J - Guilty pleasure.

Salaryman Kintaro 1, 2, 3 - I used to watch Dallas and Dynasty when I was a kid. This is as close as I can get nowadays.

Ah My Goddess S1: I love, adore, worship this show.

Cromartie High School v1,2 - Humourous, not funny. Not all that humourous either at that.

Excel Saga: V1 - Now that's better. A little chuckle is just what the Doctor ordered, have to admit it's not as funny the second time around though.

Online

The usual suspects, minus Funimation's offerings though.

Time of Eve ep 5 came out today. The best thing on the Interweb.

Seasons are coming to a close and Natsu no Arashi is still all kinds of awesome. Saki is Ok, Hayate is funny as anything, Someone needs to licence Eden of the East and the two forthcoming movies yesterday. Outstanding stuff from the creator of GITSSAC. Final episode of Ristorante Paradiso was excellent, it's a really nice slice of life series that you know will never get licenced, but it's worth watching.

Trying Gurren Lagann at Manga, and it's probably the most overrated show around. It's fun, but not the best thing since sliced bread some people have claimed it to be.

Haruhi's up at Youtube, and I have officially seen the first new season episode, Bamboo Leaf Rhapsody, which is just like putting on a pair of comfortable slippers. I haven't seen (officially) The Endless Eight yet, but from what I haven't seen, it could be a work of genius, or designed to drive fans insane.

First new show of the season at Crunchyroll, Aoi Hana - High School Yuri romance, starting off really sweet and charming. Hope it doesn't go all School Days.

Solty Rei volume 3 - Another really enjoyable set of episodes. This volume Also had a twist that I was not expecting. Can’t wait for volume 4.

Finished Black Blood Brothers, enjoyable but the ending feels like it's the mid-point in a 26 episode series and that really did it harm in my opinion.

I'm glad you liked OHSHC. It's my favourite series and I was so happy when it was released legally. And it's got such a good response too!

The end was a bit of a cop-out but those 2 episodes with the boss where fantastic. Good choice *thumbs up*

Finished Elfen Lied rewatch and started Last Exile rewatch.

Up to disk 6/7 of Tenjho Tenge which is surprisingly enjoyable. Despite the obvious comparisons with Ikki Tosen for me the story is better, there's a lot less fan service and while violent there isn't the nasty almost sadistic streak that ran through Ikki. Looking forward to the final disk this weekend.

Just a quick question for both of you. Did you notice any problems with either of the soundtracks on Ouran as Ive heard its rather "tinny" on one of them (I can't remember which) so Ive been holding out on buying them till I can get this confirmed or not.
