Anyone got a favourite death scene from any particular show? The chance of major spoilers is high so try and give fair warning if you can!

Main, incidental and background characters are all fair game! Trajic, blazes of glory or just plain gross is all good. Pictures of the moment are a welcome bonus, show us! Twisted Evil

Not got any in mind myself as the moment, but thought it might be an amusing to talk about. Laughing

Evangelion spolier
Quote:
Rei Ayanami's very noble death

It's strange I can't actually think of a lot of deaths in anime, either everyone survives or everyone dies.

Wolf's Rain spolier
Quote:
Cher's death, - that was really unexpected, also Toboe's and Quent's

Crhrono Crusade (major Spoiler - do not read if you haven't seen the series)
Quote:
the main charactrs death, I knew it was building upto it, but it was still really emotional

ZOE: Dolores I - (major Spoiler - do not read if you haven't seen the series)
Quote:
Dolores, very noble sacrefice, the fact that her ai was transfer to the Ender for the epiloge scene was a bitof a cop-out

With series' like Slayers, sometimes the baddies take so long to kill that it lessens the effect, to the point where you're happy that they've finally been bumped off. It's swift trajic deaths that are really unexpected that are the better ones. */sick* Wink

Blue Gender:

Quote:
Can't remember the character's name, but on volume 2 there's a little girl who Yuji's protecting. He gets knocked down and is looking at her from the ground and she's looking at him with this weird smile on her face. Then a Blue leg stomps down, you hear a nasty crunch noise, and she's gone. That traumatised me as it was brutal! Shocked

This is going to sound really harsh, but one of the good things about Blue Gender was the mortality rate,
Quote:
Yuji's friend who knew the same song as him, just died when the truck crashed and he got his head smashed open

Can't believe no one's mentioned Gantz yet. There's so many deaths to choose from!

I think with gantz, everybody deserved it. Twisted Evil So it dfoesn't really make for "best death"

Elfen Lied had some pretty good deaths in it too,
Quote:
those kids who were bullying Lucy and killed her puppy

And
Quote:
when Mariko "#35" killed her scientist mother
that one was really unexpected.

Ah yes. Part of me thought they deserved it.

Elfen Lied > Gantz due to better plot and characters you cared about.

They most certainly did, I would have done that to those kids if I were Lucy.

That was one of the cruelest scenes in Elfen Lied, those kids got what they deserved.

Completely off topic but I love the bit in Alien 3, that while it's a prison full of murderers and rapists, when the dog gets hurt one asks "would could do this to a dog?".
