The following is a list of the Anime Conventions & Corporate events I know are running in the British Isles of the next 12 months. See how many you can visit!

Anime Conventions:
Eirtakon [February 9th-11th - Dublin - ROI]
Eirtakon is the Republic's largest Anime convention and ran for the first time just after Tomo-Dachi in 2005. There have been delays however it looks like the convention will run and it will be a blast!
http://www.eirtakon.com/

Minami-Con [March 16th-18th - Southampton - England]
Minami is the United Kingdoms oldest anime convention and has been running since 1994. About 400 anime fans come every year to one of the UK's greats.

Amecon [10th-12th August - Leicester - England]
The United Kingdom's largest convention with over 1400 attendees in the summer of 2006. The committee promises to bring yet another amazing con for the UK anime convention goer.

Tokonatsu [August 3rd-5th - Woburn - England]
Otherwise known as Wildercon because the whole convention is in the great outdoors! Yes tents and campfires are commonplace if you join the most unique con in the UK.

Tomo-Dachi [August 24th - 26th - Londonderry - N.Ireland]
Ireland's largest convention is back for a third year and promises to be bigger and better than ever before. Guests are yet to be announced but be sure not to miss out on this con.

Alcon [7th-9th September - Leicester - England]
The UK's new budding convention is due to make its first outing in 2007. Based around the Anime League forums it is the perfect place to meet your online friends!
http://www.alcon.org.uk/

Fuyucon [October 19th-21st - Nottingham - England]
No this isn’t all about Robin Hood! Fuyucon based in Nottingham is having its first even event this year. Make sure to go out and support them!
http://www.fuyucon.org/

Eirtakon [November 23rd-25th - Dublin - ROI]
Eirtakon is the Republic's largest Anime convention, running for the third time since 2005. Following a successful event in February 2007, eirtakon will be back in The Hub, DCU this November. If you're in or around Dublin, be sure to make it!

here's somthing odd, the banner for japanex found on the main page of the mcmexpo
http://www.londonexpo.com/
says - 21-22/07/07
but if you click on the banner the following page says the dates are 14-15/07/07
http://www.japanexlondon.com/

while a link to this page, gives no dates at all, just "summer 2007"
http://www.mcmexpo.net/japanexlondon/index.html

Shocked *confused* Shocked

I wasn't 100% sure either and left it off my first demo of the list but then I found this thread over on the Neo forums,

http://www.neomag.co.uk/forums/viewtopic.php?t=2753

It seems to make it clear enough Wink

BTW - Alcon's dates have changed.

Yep, already booked on Amecon too, this morning in fact, the press release (posted on EoA's news) already says they've got 600+ bookings already.
Chris patton, Monica Rial Very Happy also says they will be announcing more guests.

*crosses fingers* Hillary Haag, Kira Vincent-Davis, Laura Bailey ...

... i can be such a fanboy ... Wink

I'm personally hoping for one or more of the following:
Luci Christian, Carrie Savage, Stephanie Sheh, Brittney Karbowski, Mariela Ortiz
(in order of likeliness unfortunatly)

/edit - added Luci Christian... how could I forget her?!

Yes Luci Christian would be awsome too, I'll bet a good chance too, as isn't she a free agent, IE working for FUNi and ADV like Monica, Greg and Chris.

Sticking with guests I notice the London May expo hasn't put any guests on the website yet, a bit conspicuous by their absence no? it's only 2 month off now.

They should be getting Vic Mignogna at London Expo (or so I've heard)

As to the free agents, everyone in Texas is a free agent, since it's a "right to work" state, it's just not all travel between Houston, and Fort Worth. (and Austin too, for the old Monster Island crew)
Also of note, Chris Patton looks to have severed the ties with Funimation, and going solely ADV now. From the buzz around the dub of Tsubasa, he was supposed to be voicing Fay D. Flourite, but isn't any more. That role went instead to Vic Mignogna.

Fudce: right to work state though it is, most of the VAs at ADV were or are under contract as part of ISM, and since all of us who work in the media have clauses preventing us from working for the competition even after we leave, it was a big deal when Monica (as the first) stepped out as a true freelancer. These days the biggest VAs are freelancers, able to do anime, games, ads, etc.

I didn't realise that Hugh, and thanks for the insight. I did find it strange how some voice actors made the journey between Houston and Fort Worth (and now even to LA for some) while some didn't, but I just put it down to actor preference, and not contractual issues.

You learn something every day Very Happy

Tell me about it - when I started here I seemed to be learning something new by the hour, but thankfully that's slowed back down to daily Very Happy

London Expo May have announced a second anime guest, and who better to compliment the huge personality of Vic Mignogna, than the huge personality of Spike Spencer!

If I wasn't already dead set on going there, I would be now.
