Trigun Box Set currently up for £14.99:

http://www.play.com/DVD/DVD/GENCS/37/51/-/3326947/Trigun_Box_Set/Product.html?searchtype=genre

It's gotta be a mistake (HMV has it up for about £42.99 for pre-order), not had the guts to order it though I guess it's worth a shot?

Haha, this seems to be happening a lot recently! HMV accidentally priced the ‘She – The Ultimate Weapon’ box set as £8.99, but later corrected it to £22.99. So if you like Tirgun, go for it! :D

Those who didn't take the plunge have missed their chance. The box is now pre-ordering at the regular price:

play.com are really starting to go downhill in my eyes. There was a time then youd preorder stuff and it would get sent thursday and arive on Saturday. Now im lucky if things get sent on Friday and arrive on Monday...

My impression of Play is that they're stuggling.

I've had a disk on order for 3 months and am still waiting.

A lot of their items are 'temporarily out of stock' as they seem to be ordering from the supplier rather than holding stock.

Maybe they're feeling the pressure as the established names such as HMV, Tesco etc. muscle in on the online market.

Or they've grown too big too fast, without the infastructure to cope with the demand

I'd go with that, there wasatime play was DVD's CD's and games,
you've now got PC, books gadgets, mobile electroics. Hell stick with what you were good at. Hell they've even started a market place amazon style thing with DVD's, and the UK play.com carries the odd R1 title through that marlet option, I thought thats' what playusa was for.

Oh and the trigun box set is back up to full price
http://www.play.com/DVD/DVD/4-/3355688/Trigun-Box-Set/Product.html
so would you rather your order cancilled or upped and chargedat the full rate without telling you.

Yeah Play should stick to what they're good at, although to be fair i got most of my TF classics toys from them so it saved me some serious postage costs and trudging round the shops. plus theyre proper cheap when it comes to memory cards.

sometimes things are deleted but play will still say temp out of stock, (they did this with the BGC OVA boxset! grrr) its something a lot of other shops will do, for example comics that are out of print, if say 5,000 people suddenly preordered it, it would merit its reprinting, its a bit of a daft system but it is used.

I must admit most of the stuff I had to preorder hasnt taken too long to come back in stock, the only one I gave up on was the BGC OVA boxset but of course that was a limited edition Sad

that whole thing about stuff arriving on the saturday beofre the monday a dvd came out could be more of an issue with the distributors, theyre very anal about stuff being sold before its release date, whe had casino royale in boxes in the back of work a good week or two before its official release date.

I'd say it's more to do with this nation's shit standard postage system.
Explain how 2 identical parcils posted at the same time, can now be 7 days apart for arrival.
one last tuesday the other still in transit.

I'd put that down to the Royal Mail.

Can't argue with free delivery Smile some places charge nearly 5+ quid regardless of the size/weight of product.
