In further effort to try and cut down on spambots and to see who are actual users as we have a very high number of users with 0posts and whom never log on.
Some sections of the forum might revert to log-in only areas, meaning you'll haveto log in to read them. All areas require log-in to post but all are currently available to read without logging in.
Suggest areas might be
Both "recommendation" forums
"clubs events and meet ups"
and the whole of "Extra bits".
Anybody got any comments on this bleak future... _________________ ...

No probelms with this idea. I would say have the news-based forums as public (News + Rumours, Anime/Manga Scene).
In some of the recommendation forums we talk more personally to each other, post up images of our stuff etc. so I wouldn't complain if random strangers weren't able to see that kind of material without at least logging in so we known who's about.
The only problem I can see is that it'll either encourage more people to join, or drive them away entirely. I never look at the Expo forum for that reason. Maybe have enough accessablie forums so people can see whether we're worth joining or not. |
