Sort of like Night Watch but keeping an eye on the forum, report bots errors such as broken links
This also follows the account activation poll which has seen account managmnt switch from user activated to admin activated, and this annoucment
this has had the bonus of stopping illegit p0rn sites from linking in "extra stuff".
Along with the content Errors and omissions thread it should help clean up site feedback from being full of error threads.

Yes, we've been lax for a few days, first thing I did when I logged on this morning was delete more than 20.
I can see some changes comeing to the forum soon, some sections might go login-only to encourage actual users to log in so we can discriminate between the two,
I'm also planning on getting new users to specify certian fields when they set up their profile when registering, which can then be altered when their account is activated. _________________ ...

Don't know if this happens to anybody else, but quite often the off-topic chat part of the forum disappears for me.
I have to try again later and hope all the threads have reappeared. Annoying when I want to reply to something though.
Anyone else had this problem? |

Ah
It's because as an incentive to get more posters to join and post, or at least log in when they want to read, several of the sections including all the bits in off topic have been set to registered / logged in members only. So they only can be seen when you're logged in.
Its's part of trying to cut down and manage the number of spammers that joined the forum as me and Gradian have full admin rights we can then see better who's logging in and who isn't because spammers register and then never log in to post.
They might dissapear depending on how you log in / out each time, as there's a tick box that says "remember me each time I visit", which might cause errors if it's checked. There is also a session limit of 2hours (IIRC) so if you're logged in for that long it logs you out automatically. _________________ ...
