Apocalyptic scenarios are two a penny in fiction.

When it comes to anime, which one tolls your chimes of doom...

My favourite oblivion is that of Texhnolyze.

It just seems so right when it comes to human nature, that we eventually just fade away into obscurity.

It appeals to my nihiistic glass half empty side.

Akira still does it for me, I love the whole concept of a cosmic rebirth, one life's destruction is another life's birth

I can't think of that many Apocalyptic events that are cataclysmic in anime, we tend to survive them and live in a dessolate wasteland aftermath of a world.
So I went with "witha whimper" as with texhnolyze there's a finality to it we're not coming back from that end, the same with Wolf's Rain.
