Just wondering what people's thoughts on this are.
I watched Escaflowne and Bleach for the first few days and was border line stopping due to the awful dub on the former, I dislike dubs anyway and this is just /shudder, but what finally pushed me off the channel was the onscreen URL. Petty maybe but as I hate on screen clutter this was the final straw for me.
Anyway I gave up which is a shame as anime needs support in this country but it seems to be another channel where the idiots in marketing have too much say.

I don't dislike it's dub, it's an enjoyable series. But if Hitomi screams "Allen!" one more time, however...
As for the channel, I'm watching all bar Transformers, and enjoying them. _________________ UK Anime DVD of the Month Awards

Surely that's part of the script and would have Hitomi screaming "Allen" in either language, it's not the dubs fault. _________________ ...

Just noticed that they dropped the URL but as I've missed 10 days or so of episodes I don't want to restart now.
If they get to the end of Escaflowne or Bleach, yes I know there's a million episodes of that, and they start at 1 again can someone please post it?
Thanks _________________ When people fail at being alive, they die.

They're gonna restart Bleach from episode one on Wednesday. It seems they only have the first season/arc at the moment. _________________ UK Anime DVD of the Month Awards

Well, I don't know how far they are for showing it in the US (it probably airs weekly there) but the 6th volume containing the start of the second arc (episodes 21-24) was only released last month. So I imagine that rights to the second arc aren't forthcoming at the moment. |

USTV is up to episode 50, and I had assumed that Bleach is being licenced directly from Viz, rather than via Manga. _________________ UK Anime DVD of the Month Awards

Judging from the post-episode20 trailer, they're doing one more run through of 1-20 then continuing with 21.
I had considered this, as going one-a-day could be seen as somewhat excessive and hasty. _________________ UK Anime DVD of the Month Awards

Thanks for the tip all, I'll start Bleach again from tomorrow.
As a general point do we know what other series they plan to show as running 1 episode per day will burn through the ones they have in next to no time?
If they just recycle the ones they have then the output will go stale very quickly. _________________ When people fail at being alive, they die.

They have about six announced "back-up" series, as well as the six they're currently running. We'll know sometime this week what anime they're replacing the two series that end next week with.
Escaflowne: final episode on Monday 8th
Bleach: Final episode was today, repeat of 1-20 starts tomorrow
Fullmetal Alchemist: still a LONG way to go
Ghost in the Shell Stand Alone Complex: 1st gig ends Tuesday 9th, it's assumed 2nd gig will replace it.
Planetes: final episode on Monday 8th
Transformers: Who knows...? Who even watches it?
For the two that are ending next week, they are likely to select from:
* Cowboy Bebop
* Wolf's Rain
* .hack//SIGN
* Gundam SEED
* S-CRY-ED
* Witch Hunter Robin
(my personal prediction...? Bebop replacing Escaflowne, Gundam replacing Planetes) _________________ UK Anime DVD of the Month Awards

They are/were actively looking for suggestions on other series to air as well with names such as Samurai Champloo and Samurai 7 suggested as things they might like to invest in. It would be interesting to see how they get along with new content since that will be required if the channel is going to survive in the long-term. |

They have a huge array to choose from, and I can't imagine MVM or ADV standing too much in their way, and they have already proven that they have Beez under their wings. _________________ UK Anime DVD of the Month Awards
