The talk about Colin in Highlander being a bad name got me wanting to start a proper thread on it. Got any more bad names?
Doris from Vampire Hunter D is one of my favourite. |

| One that always gets me is Master Chief in Halo. Crap English names in anime I can forgive; it isn't Japan's first language but the guys who decided on that name have no excuse other than a complete lack of imagination. |

....
Master Chief isnt his name, its his rank (Master Chief Petty Officer 117). His real name is top secret, only a few people know, so most people call him by his rank.
His name?

Reading about some of the characters from the new Gundam 00 series had me amused:
Lockon Stratos

Guts, from Berserk really is a dumb name.
Wavering off topic, Saw is a dumb name for a movie.
"Did you see Saw?"
"Yes, I saw Saw"
Foxy Fox from Kiddy Grade always makes me laugh. _________________ "I thought what I'd do was, I'd pretend I was one of those deaf-mutes."

Train, from Black Cat is pretty odd.
And I always thought Master Chief was a cool name in an uber geeky kind of way.
Why did they never release Halo 2 or 3 on the PC? |

Halo 2 came out on PC a fair few months back. It's Windows Vista only though and was released to encourage people to upgrade their systems.
In a few years once the 360's died Halo 3 will probably come out as well. |

I don't have Vista. Nor do I want to get the poxy flaw-ridden thing.
I'm not blatantly anti-vista or anything though
But...I would love to play Halo 2. I love Halo...*fond memories* |

Don't worry. They spelled the name in at least three different ways that I saw. ADV wrote it as Guy, the credits listed it as Gai (same pronunciation, different spelling) and there was one place that flashed up the name as Gae (again similar pronunciation to the others) so take your pick . |

There's a Bisto in the old Shadow Skill anime (Manga DVD).
"I am Bisto" - love it! |
