First off can anyone tell me if this clip...
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YONcF6lL7es
is from Central Park media's Region 0 Dub/Sub DVD of said title? I can't work out if theres like a version from the 70's and this clip is from a remake .
Either way, I think i'm going to have to get this!

My computer won't let me install the new drivers so Youtube's gone and died on me, but wow Time Bokan's hella obscure! Very Happy

I can only link to ANN in terms of advice and maybe the sysnopsis will ring a bell:
http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/review/time-bokan-dvd

It was a popular title in Japan with a lot of episodes behind it so it might be hard to pin down. But from what I can see the TV series looks really old and rough whereas the OVAs (what CPM released) are more modern with their retro style... if you get what I mean. If it looks slightly shiny then it's probably the one imo, but yea that is a blind guess. Wink

Sounds like you got good deal.

A lot of people say avoid R0 DVDs as they're probably bootlegs, but many of CPMs DVD are R0 so they're totally fine.

I've never seen any of that show, so I hope it's good!

Thanks Smile yeah at 4 pounds either im in for trouble or somebody up there was sending me a sign! Very Happy I think when they say avoid region 0 they must mean like the ones coming from origins unknown, plus Central Park Media have been going for ages. anyhoo I'll let you know if it's any good.

OK, it arrived Very Happy very quickly just finished watching it, the first episode was alright, kind of like a whacky racers thing, but the second episode was where the good stuff was,

basically theres a secret kingdom where all the studio-Tatsunoko characters live, like gatchaman, casshan, tekkaman and others I've never heard of do battle with our witless trio of super villains, who pilot a giant schoolgirl mecha and use things like crying and acting vulnnerable to stop the good guys from kicking their butts, also theres some characters from a show called Yattaman which has a very catchy theme tune http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dIp-DdqCltU&feature=related
which sports a giant robot fire-dog called Yattaruff

its hard to explain this, its only really 30 minutes if you exclude the race episode, I guess they were doing a mazinkaiser, taking an old kids show and teening it up, so to speak, the Yattaman team members Gan-Chan and his girlfriend Ai-Chan are now grown up and newlyweds - cue lots of awkward mushy/horny moments often ending in their robot sidekick coitus-preventus-ing

All I can say is, if you see this, dont pay more than a fiver for it.
that said it will be a fiver well spent , because it was a lot of fun and I'll be keeping an eye out for any Yattaman related stuff.

Cool, sounds fair enough. Might keep an eye out for it if I'm feeling in the mood for a cheapo oddity. Smile
