Can someone remind me, what the difference is going to be between this and the original.
I hope there not gonna ruin it with loads of CG. |

Shan't be queuing up to get this one as it's the same film with a new (and unwanted) sheen, but knowing Manga it'll be cheaper later down the line. |

As said int eh news, best comparison is like what george Lucas did to the old star wars trilogy, I.E they goen back into it and fucked around with it adding cg some soem scenes will look obviously new and other will look hidiously dated.
there's a couple of traielrs on youtube.

Well looks like there ruining a classic, I hate CG, its what makes Akira and Ghost in the Shell so stunning, they didn't need it.
You would think they would release both versions with the blu-ray edition. So people like me can watch the original and by the looks of it far superior version in glorious HD.
Why do they find it necessary to go back to something like this and add CG, it boggles the mind |

The original had CG in it, one of the first anime to have more than small amounts of it in. (the first to have any CG in? MS Gundam: Char's Counterattack.)
Also most, if not all, modern anime are made on computer. Theres not many of the old "film cell/paint" animation left, worldwide. I assume by CG you mean 3d, not 2d.
Anyway, i don't think the blu-ray coverart is final - im betting my left testicle that the final cover won't have the awful "beyond hi-definition" banner on it.
(please note, not a real bet) _________________ Avatar: Hayley Williams, lead singer of Paramore

Yeah sorry your correct, what I should have said was the CG parts (3D) are not mixed with 2D animation. At least I don't recall there being any anyway. If they did it was pretty awesome
Thats what I thought let Gits 2 down, they mixed it too much.
In terms of CG I think it let Karas down in the end aswell. The 1st part seemed to blend beautifully but the 2nd part was a real let down.
I do think though that the 1st part was mainly set at night or in the dark and that could have had a lot to do with it. |

I take your Gundam and raise you a Golgo 13. Helicopter sequence taken from the Thunderblade arcade game...

Interesting link, its a review of the Japanese release and it has some comparisons of both the original and 2.0 versions of the film.

(personally? The original looks better. Dear Manga - i will be forever in your debt if you do a 2 blu-ray disc set with the original version of the film on the 2nd disc!) _________________ Avatar: Hayley Williams, lead singer of Paramore
