The votes are in! Not sure if anyone's signed onto their newletter, but this came throught today:
| Quote: | Hi manga fans!
Last month, we launched Otaku Choice which gave you the chance to decide what which series we publish. Many thanks to all of you who voted - nearly 800 people!
The results are in and the winner is....OTHELLO! Look out for the first volume published in May.
OTAKU CHOICE - THE RESULTS:
1. Othello - 268 votes
2. Wallflower - 213 votes
3. Kagetora- 125 votes
4. Genshiken - 111 votes
|
I'm surprised to see Genshiken in last place as I assumed that it was the fan favourite. Just goes to show how little sway the vocal online community holds.
Really looking forward to Othello now as it's from the maker of Guru Guru Pon-Chan - and that series was class! |

I thought that, but at least this allows me to continue to import without guilt :p _________________ UK Anime DVD of the Month Awards

It also demonstrates what little point there is in fans having ranting threads with 100s of posts whenit doesn't really make a jot of difference to the overall market.
(yeah i've been complaining a bit too much about fandom lately - my online days are numbered! ) |

complaining about fandom - You'll love the new article I've got lined up for eyeonanime.
completely OT but couldn't help it.
On topic, perhaps genshiken is last because everybody's bought it, or, and is probaly more the case. you're right and online communities are in a small very vocal minority. _________________ ...
