Here's a chance to nominate a story that would make a good anime series, it could be a TV show, movie, comic book, cartoon, play or novel. Whatever takes your fancy.
I reckon that the X Files would be perfect for anime. A great premise, dark story, loads of creepiness, and two great main characters. It's also got as many twist and turns and story reversals as Full Metal Alchemist.
Mulder and Scully also sound good in Japanese. (They had the foreign dubs in the S1 special features) _________________ "I thought what I'd do was, I'd pretend I was one of those deaf-mutes."

I'd love to see something like Thunderbirds or Captain Scarlet get the stand-alone-complex level of sophistication, I know there was Thunderbirds 2086, but the vehicles were pants! And there was no real connection to the original at all.
I'd also like to see a proper western, I know there's futuristic spacey ones but I'd like to see one actually set in the correct time period! I don't mind if they bend the rules slightly and have some exotic technology/weaponry as long as it had an industrial reovlution look to it - but for the love of all things good dont let them have a giant mechanical spider!
An Indiana Jones Anime would rock especially if they did a collaboration and got Harrison Ford to be in the English Dub But none of that Indiana Jones - the puberty years rubbish!!!
I also think Ash and the ol' army of darkness could be adapted into some form of an anime gore-fest shame the comic went a bit mediocre. _________________ "Dying is easy, comedy is hard." - Sir Donald Wolfit |

I'd like to see Firefly continued as an anime, hell I'd like to see firefly continued... But I think the Japanese studios producers might have some issues with the morals of a crew.
X files would aslo be good, I agree on that one as long as they wouldn't anime-ise it and make 'em younger and make Scully so she really obviously fancies the now-brooding Mulder in an unconfertable "big-brother" kind of way. _________________ "Ah! Curse your sudden but inevitable betrayal!"

I thought of something I'd love to see an anime version of - something like The Fast Show
Have a group of virtual actors who play everybody in the series - sort of like a cross between Azumanga Daioh, (humour) Excel Saga (for the parody) and Colorful for the format and quickness of it all. _________________ "Ah! Curse your sudden but inevitable betrayal!"

Taking your idea and running with it, what about an anime adaptation of The League of Gentlemen _________________ UK Anime DVD of the Month Awards

One I would love to see adapted into anime would be Red Dwarf... They could really go to town on that, I think . |

I get a feeling that it would turn into a harem anime. A teenage, nerdy Lister surrounded by gorgeous girls in deep space.
I'd think Starsky and Hutch would turn out good, especially if done with Samurai Champloo sensibilities and a Yoko Kanno soundtrack. _________________ "I thought what I'd do was, I'd pretend I was one of those deaf-mutes."

Thing is it would be the really luckless Rimmer who would actually want the harem, Lister wouldn't want any of them asside from Kachanski, who would either be A) not in the series or B) wouldn't fancy him back until the last episode.
Red dwarf would be good if they kept it to the fact that they are alone in the universe, everything they encounter is man made.
Lots of robot maid girls for the harem and have Kryten as the command unit (and only male robot)
edit, just realised Cat's ca-race!! Listers harem will be made up of dozens of cat-eared gals. _________________ "Ah! Curse your sudden but inevitable betrayal!"
