We've all probably found ourselves listening to anime themes when not nesessarily watching the show, or seeking out soundtracks. So what are you listening to or alternatively what are your favourite Opening and ending themes.
I must admit at the moment I find myself very partial to the opening theme to Moon Phase and the Ending to Dai Guard. _________________ ...

I know this is going to sound silly but it was actually the opening tune that hooked me into trying Dai Guard _________________ Subtitles only!? If I wanted to read I would've bought a book! |

Oooh! Where to start, where to start...
My favorite anime songs usually end up being neither OP or ED, I'm a sucker for the beautiful insert songs that appear just in the most amazing times.
Right now: "Princess of December", UFO Ultramaiden Valkyrie: December Nocturne (Season 2)
All time fav IN: "Agape", UFO Ultramaiden Valkyrie (Season 1)
For OPs and EDs for me, it's more of a flavour of the month thing, but to name a few..
1000% Sparkling (Negima?!)
Happy Material (Negima!)
Catch You Catch Me (CCS)
Hare Nochi Hare! (Kamichu)
Ice Candy (Kamichu) _________________ UK Anime DVD of the Month Awards

Yeah that can definitly be the case a lot of the time, but having not watched Dai Guard for well over a year, now I've got the brick-set I'm remembered about how much I do like the ending and now must root ourt the MP3

Gantz main intro (full version) for me - it's a real funky song! Also some Naruto and Bleach from time to time.
(Dai-Guard intro fan here!) |

A little Bubblegum Crisis!
Not too keen on the show. I came to it too late to share in the love that fans who found it ten years ago have, but I can't fault the soundtrack _________________ "I thought what I'd do was, I'd pretend I was one of those deaf-mutes."

I have most of the Ghibli soundtracks, Fiction by Yuki Kajiura which is versions of tracks from various anime, Noir OSTs, Kino's Journey intro and outro currently being shipped, and Duvet from SE Lain.
I have them ripped to the PC and play them as a random playlist when I'm online doing stuff.
These are all Japanese imports rather than any US or Chinese versions. |

Bubblegum Crisis vocal collection #1 was the first CD I ever bought, ever.
Recently found Mp3's of Neko Mimi Mode so that's getting a lot of play and Suppuration Core, which is an insert song by Kotoko featured in the anime Kannazuki No Miko, and that has to be played really loud.
I must admit I do download a lot on the one hand, but my J-pop collection has also gone up by about 30 cds in the past few months. I Managed to track down a copy of De javu by Hitomi , after believing it was OOP for ages. _________________ ...

The OP (Hit in America by Beat Crusaders), ED themes (My World Down by Meister and Moon on the Water by Sowelu) and most of the music in between from the BECK soundtrack has got to be one of the best I have heard.
I love the ending theme to DearS (Happy Cosmos by PoppinS) for pure silliness and catchiness . The original Bubblegum Crisis, as mentioned above, also had one of the best scores. |

Also you might want to try Yes Asiaas they have a free shipping option, and will even pay any customs duty for you. If you're just after the opening from Mezzo and not the OST it might be best to search for the artist ratehr than the anime title.
For harder to find items then, go with what Random said as CD Japan surprised me just after christmas witha copy of Yuki Kimura's best singles collection, not listed at yes asia anymore. _________________ ...

By coincidence my latest batch from CDJapan arrived today
Only Yesterday OST
Porco Rosso OST
My Neighbour Totoro OST
The Cat Returns OST
All The Way - Mikuni Shimokawa - Kino's Journey intro
The Beautiful World - Ai Maeda - Kino's Journey outro
Kino's Journey is in the ADV sale at £7.99 per disk. If you haven't seen this it's a real gem of a series. Very different but really exceptional. |
