As a UK based website, eyeonanime made the decision to not cover R1 imports in favour of solely supporting the domestic UK market.
With the news that the sample Manga Max has an import section what are your views on domestic (read UK based) websites and magazines advocating importing alternative versions over the domestic UK releases. |

| I personally prefer to read about UK releases on UK websites. I don't much care for importing from the US myself and only do it when I see no particular hope for a title making its way to the UK. |

| If the UK's your scene then stick with it. Manga Max had worldwide distribution so it made sense to have American and Australian releases to suit their readership. |

Domestic releases are more important, a little mention every so often of outstanding series are always welcome, but UK releases should always take priority. _________________ UK Anime DVD of the Month Awards

If its aimed at the UK it should primarily focues on UK releases/news, however the occasional mention of the import scene is fine. Maybe as a side panel (like how SFX and Empire handle em) _________________ Avatar: Seras Victoria from Hellsing: Ultimate

| theres nothing wrong with having more information about posiable upcoming anime title but if is becomes a focus of the mag it's not really going to help the UK market |

This is a tricky one from person to person. I feel focus on the u.k scene is important, but we can't ignore what's going on outside totally, for they effect what we will see eventually.
The import section of MM is them following something they have always done. There's no harm in alerting fans to what they are missing in the u.s, because the global nature of any news on the internet, runs rings around any monthly print magazine.
I'm sure MM will still focus on the u.k scene more mind, if it does come back. _________________ Seek joy in life, cause less strife and hopefully you'll find a pretty wife. LOL! |

I don't know, given the fact that the Uk market supports anything upto 20 releases a month now, that's plenty to cover in limited page space in magazines, I was always dissapointed when I bought manga max wantign to read a review for something that was either out or coming out in the Uk, only to find several pages worth of import reviews.
I'm not saying the rest of the world should be ingnored as there just isn't enough news and features to cover the UK solely.
RE: manga suppliments
I agree these should be dropped, these really do take up page space that should go to other things. |
