"Love High-na"?
"Serieses"? Gollum?

I'm just enjoying this podcast for the pronunciations! Razz

Edit - had a good listen, and it's an improvement over the first one, interesting to listen to, although there is still a tendency to wander off topic at times. The incidental music helped break things up, and the trailer clips were a nice touch. It'd be nice to begin the podcast with the date of recording, as half the release dates had changed since you recorded it.

So where did we wander off topic, news stays on target, about the industry didn't. releease dates did, anime watching - I can't remember I think it was the first thing we recorded, black lagoon commentary also can't remember as of typing this. Pinpoint where we're going wrong.

staying on topic is one thing I'd like too.

Well, it's not so much wandering off topic, as it is staying with a topic too long.

The news was fine, the chat about the industry was Ok, although I did feel that you did drift onto aspects that weren't all that relevant. The good bit was on how much it costs to release a series in the UK, but I don't know if you had notes prepared, but starting to add numbers up in the middle of the podcast slowed it down for me. I'd pay more attention if you emphasised key points more.

The what you watched section is probably what I enjoyed the least, although I think it should work. It'd probably come across better for me if it was more of a review format, Siskel & Ebert style, set up the scene, give an opinion, brief chinwag about it. As it is, it felt more like a chat between mates that I was eavesdropping on.

Of course this is all subjective opinion really, and only worth it if backed up by other people's comments...

Anyone?

I'm currently listening to it, so I'll respond to what you guys say during the podcast:

- Romeo X Juliet is a confirmed licenced for Funimation in the States. It was announced earlier in the year.

- It's pronounced "holic", the xxx is there as a placeholder for various things, and yes, Yuko is from Tsubasa. The two manga's crossover, but all crossovers are removed from the xxxholic anime (but not the Tsubasa one)

- From what I've heard, your summary of E's Otherwise is about right.

- I agree about Tsukihime dying out towards the end, and maybe that's why nobody remembers what it is!

- Tony mentioned at Amecon that Gravitation is selling very well. And yes it's 3 of 3.

- Manga are milking GitS MORE than ADV and Manga milk Evangelion.

- Final Fantasy Unlimited actually had the basis of a good story, but then gave up.

- RahXephon is a love story, hidden behind religious facias and mechas.. Good series.

- The FMA movie is a terrible place to start the FMA series, since it's the end!

- BECK, best dub of 2007.

- Damo, your memory SUCKS! But you remembered the important stuff, the yuri.

- I have apparantly been living under a rock. I haven't seen Hellsing.

- You walked a thin line talking about the Hellsing dub. A lot of the people voicing the english accents are actually english, but I don't know how they sound, and how they may or may not sound out of place. And yes it's Crispin Freeman.

- Yugo is great. Yes it was released, albeit slightly delayed by shipping problems. Vol1 was released 20th November 2006. And it was Pakistan.

Thanks for all that there are some really good point here and I think we'll be looking at some more improvements, but the question still remains did you enjoy it and was it better this time around

Oh yeah we did add up the numbers as we where moving a long. Last minute thing, and your wright it did slow down the podcast a bit. One more thing we're learned not to do.

Didn't listen to the commentary this time, so I can't comment on it.

thanks Fudce, maybe an errata section to cover errors made in the last show?

Some of those though are your opinion ratehr than corrections rahxephon IS an emotioanl trainreck, there's a lvoer story in their and the movie accentuates it far mroe than the convoluted series.

I make notes before I record stuff so at least I've got somthignto go off, truth is though My Otome was pretty forgettabvle I remeber Arika and the princess got to me after a while and Nena's development was sketchy at best and the show suffered from havign the original my hime cast, but the plot... no.

I liked the bits where you went off track. That's kinda how conversation works, you did successfully reel it in a couple of times which shows you know what you're doing.

The release date section was a bit boring, and 70% of it was redundant as the releases were changed anyway so it kinda seems pointless to continue with that. Perhaps a run down of the top 10-20 selling titles would be better, it'd leave more room for cynicism as Street Fighter II was at number 10 last time I checked. Or perhaps a "highlight" where you review or examine one particular show overall.

I feel the "what we've watched section" could of done with a bit more fleshing out. I enjoyed the ramblings about Mai-Otome and Yugo, but didn't really inform, and if I hadn't already watched Yugo or known what Mai-Otome was about I think I would of been slightly bewildered.

The length was much better and the music breaks mean for easy pausing places, to get a drink or whatever, as the first one had none.

I didn't listen to the fan commentary as I've not seen that show yet.

In defence there's nothing we can do about release dates changing apart from stick a disclaimer in there even if we record it the day before the air date things can still change. A rundown of the chart would become redundand quicker given that 1 which retailer chart do we use, and 2 manga usually dominate them for months/years on end.

So if anything the watcha watching section is the weakest so far, I liek the idea of turning it into reviews instead as it instantly gives the conversation a better structure. The My Otome bit turned into a bit of a distaster I admit. *sweatdrop*
